Braillevolver
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Hello there!
"Braillevolver" is a game I've been working on and reworking for a while. It started out as a minigame done for one of my college's labs, but when the lab went belly up, I decided to make it into a full (yet still short) game, and after a lot of scrapped mechanics and features, its here.
The game aims to teach you the basics of the braille alphabet, through 2 modes: classic and endless mode:
- Classic mode
- Only your mistakes are being counted, displayed in the main menu.
- The learning mode of the game.
- Each symbols continues to appear until you guess it correctly.
- You can access notes (solutions) of all of the symbols you've seen that game.
- You win by correctly guessing each letter once.
- Endless mode
- You get 5 lives, each mistake costs you 1 life.
- Your score is counted up for each correct guess, highest score displayed in the main menu.
- All symbols can and will repeat until the game ends.
- The game ends if you lose all of your lives or if you exit early.
In both modes, incorrect guesses will display a poster with the correct solution to the previous symbol and you will be instantly given another symbol to guess, and you can exit early by pressing "escape" or "exit".
Supports full localization to English (default) and Croatian, with a partial (and probably incorrect) localization to German and Japanese. (note that the languages do not affect the core gameplay)
More localization languages could be added soon!
Think you've learned enough? Why not test your knowledge in the slightly more stressful sister game "Braillevolver: Time Attack" then?
